Lake Conroe will be abuzz July 2 with an early celebration that begins with a competitive Boat Parade and ends with a star-spangled fireworks display over Lake Conroe. A parade through Town Center begins that morning, followed by a Cartoon Festival, live music, amazing food and one of the largest fireworks display in the Houston area. The Old West festival in Montgomery is a celebration of cowboy culture. Hot new fashions at old-style prices are exactly what summer shoppers will find at the Prime Outlets of Conroe. Browse the shops of Old Town Spring and discover the charm of its antique arts-and-crafts specialty stores and even a winery. For the Texas historian, tour the Heritage Museum located in Conroe. One of the museum’s exhibits features Dr. Charles B. Stewart, a former resident of Montgomery who was the state’s first secretary of state and designer of both the Texas flag and state seal.
